16 months and counting

Okay, so Ryland turned 16 months old several weeks ago, but I'm just now getting around to posting pictures.

At 16 months old, Ryland had eight teeth (one molar).  Since then, he's acquired a ninth tooth.  He loves to eat berries: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries....   Other favorite foods include scrambled egg with cheese, Gerber graduates ravioli, frozen peas, and crackers.  He'll eat almost anything else we give him, too.

His favorite toys/activities are his beloved teddy bear, puzzles, books, rocks and sticks, outside, the telephone, and an alphabet game on TV.  He likes to watch movies for short segments of time if they are filled with songs.  He continually does things that impress us, like matching magnetic and puzzle letters or numbers to letters or numbers he sees in books or on the television.  (His favorites seem to be W and 8.)  He's starting to say more, but still the most recognizable word is "Daddy."  When Ryland wants to know where someone or something is, he puts his arms out to the side in an "I don't know" motion.  He puts his fingers together and wiggles them when we sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider", and washes the spider out with his arms waving.  He loves to sing "Head and Shoulders," but only does the motions for head, toes, eyes, and mouth.

Ryland is growing up so fast, and it is fun to watch him learn and develop more every day, but wow is he exhausting to keep up with sometimes!

The pictures from the month of April are mostly from the park, but there are a few others, too.  Enjoy!
